About the Foundation

Thanks to the generosity and dedication of our donor family, 2011 was an extremely successful year for Southern Ocean Medical Center Foundation.  Through your philanthropic gifts, we saw years of planning come to life with the groundbreaking on our expanded emergency department.

As we move through 2012, you will see this $22.2 million project emerge growing our emergency department from 8,800 square feet to 29,000. Along with 42 large private bays and a separate space designed for children, and expanded triage and fast track areas will help our highly skilled doctors and nurses deliver high level emergency service quickly to a growing population.

We are proud to announce that our donor family, including; community members, hospital leadership, team members and our generous auxiliaries, have pledged $5.4 million to this important campaign. This overwhelming response reflects the commitment you have to the care of our patients and the health of our community.
