Physical Therapy

Physical Therapy Services

Physical therapy helps a person regain an appropriate level of function and fitness following illness or injury.

Our team of physical therapists provides quality rehabilitative care for patients of all ages pre-operatively, post-operatively, and/or for conservative management of musculoskeletal injuries and conditions. Our skilled staff establishes personal goals for each patient, with a carefully planned and medically approved treatment program, and maintains an ongoing dialogue with the patient's physician. We believe our one-on-one patient-therapist relationships are a major reason for our outstanding success.

Our Fully Licensed Staff

Our fully licensed staff of specially-trained physical therapists emphasize a hands-on approach to patient care, providing individualized attention to every patient. Our physical therapists develop treatment protocols with your doctor and use methods such as exercise, functional activities, heat, cold, ultrasound and massage.

Our physical therapists are trained to evaluate movement and overall conditioning and to identify improper body positioning. They will also provide specific education on treatment and prevention.

Aquatic Physical Therapy is a great alternative to land based therapies as it provides low-impact exercises in a buoyancy-assisted environment. It has been proven beneficial for arthritis, fibromyalgia, back disorders, or any disorder requiring a gentle weightless environment for therapeutic exercises.

Lymphedema treatments are provided through the use of Complete Decongestive Therapy (CDT). The goals of CDT are to reduce swelling, reduce the risk of infection, promote healthy tissue, and educate patients and caregivers in the long-term management of lymphedema. CDT involves manual lymphatic drainage, compression bandaging, therapeutic exercise, and education. This is provided by a certified CDT therapist.

LSVT treatment for Parkinson’s disease is intensive, research-based, globally standardized treatment protocols that focus on amplitude and sensory recalibration to improve communication and mobility by stimulating both motor and sensory systems. This specialty treatment is provided by a certified physical therapist using exercises that target large amplitude, whole-body, big movements. Focus on a single goal – “Think BIG!”

Goals are to effectively improve walking, balance, and large limb movements in the short-term.

Interactive Metronome (IM) is an assessment and treatment tool used by therapists who work with pediatric and adult patients with neurological conditions that affect cognitive and motor functioning. IM provides an objective method for measuring deficits and for tracking improvement. IM is an evidence-based, engaging therapeutic modality that improves cognitive and motor skills. The design of the program ensures that patients recognize progress as it is occurring, increasing their motivation toward therapy and their ultimate recovery. IM is used to improve attention, coordination, language processing, reading and math fluency and impulse and aggression control
