What To Expect Through Your Joint Surgery & Stay

Before Your Surgery

Once your orthopedic surgeon has determined that you are a candidate for joint replacement surgery, your surgery date will be scheduled, as well as pre-admission testing

During pre-admission testing, you will also have the opportunity to meet with the anesthesiologist, who will respond to any questions you may have about your pain management during and following surgery.

Before your procedure, you will also benefit from the chance to attend a specially designed education program for patients about to undergo joint replacement surgery.

Your Hospital Stay

Following your surgery, you will be admitted to our newly renovated orthopedic inpatient unit. The beautiful unit includes private rooms with furniture and restroom facilities designed to accommodate the specific needs of those recovering from joint replacement surgery.

The orthopedic inpatient unit also features a fitness facility so that your rehabilitation can begin immediately.

Managing Your Pain

During your inpatient stay, it is our goal to aid in your recovery while making every effort to make you as comfortable as possible.

Our comprehensive pain management program offers a number of pain control options designed to minimize any pain you may experience following your surgery.

Following Your Hospital Stay

While you are in the hospital recovering from your surgery, our case management team will work with you to ensure that you have the appropriate level of care available to you when you are discharged from the hospital.

Your physician may determine that you need additional rehabilitation before you return home. The Transitional Care Unit provides short-term physical and occupational therapy in a beautifully appointed environment.
