Colon and Rectal Surgeon Joins Southern Ocean Medical Center

Robert Khoo, M.D. expands colon and rectal surgical capabilities for local residents  

Manahawkin, NJ - Robert Khoo, M.D., FRCS(c), FACS has joined Southern Ocean Medical Center and Meridian Cancer Care. His expertise and experience will help to expand colon and rectal surgical capabilities and a multidisciplinary approach to care in southern Ocean county.

Dr. Khoo most recently served as the section chief of colon and rectal surgery at Geisinger Medical Center. He has 27 years of clinical experience, practicing medicine across and out of the United States in
California, Colorado, Pennsylvania and Canada. He completed medical school at the University of Calgary, Calgary, Canada, and a Residency in General Surgery at the University of Calgary Hospitals, Calgary, Canada. He then completed Fellowship training in Colon and Rectal Surgery at the University of Minnesota.

Dr. Khoo is a member of many medical societies including the American College of Surgeons, the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, the Association for Academic Surgery, and the Northwest Society of Colon and Rectal Surgery. He has received numerous awards and recognitions, including Best Doctors in America from 2009 to 2012 and the Premier Physicians Award from the Colorado chapter of the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation in 2000.
