Manahawkin, NJ - Four doctors have been named Physicians of the Year at Southern Ocean Medical Center. Arvind Baliga, M.D., Purviben Shah, M.D., Carey Penrod, D.O. and Anupama Rao M.D. were selected for this recognition by the nurses at Southern Ocean Medical Center.

“These awards celebrate the special relationship of collaboration and mutual respect that our physicians and nurses share,” says Donna Ciufo, DNP, R.N., chief nurse executive and VP nursing at Southern Ocean Medical Center. “This is the first year Southern Ocean has presented these awards and we are confident it is the start of a special tradition where we recognize the unique relationship among caregivers and the quality care our doctors and nurses provide all our patients.”

Nurses at Southern Ocean Medical Center praise these four doctors for their ability to work together with them. “Dr. Baliga takes time to ensure the patient receives the best care that can be provided and will always follow up with the nurses to see if there is anything that he can provide to make their stay meaningful and positive,” says one group of nurses.
