Meridian Health Announces New Appointments and Officers to its Boards of Trustees

 

Neptune, NJ - Meridian Health is pleased to announce its new appointments to the Meridian Health and Meridian Hospitals Corporation Boards of Trustees. Since Meridian was formed, the health system has been fortunate to attract some of the most experienced and respected community members, business leaders and physicians to serve on its boards.

Gordon N. Litwin, Esq.,  Little Silver, counsel with Ansell, Grimm and Aaron, PC, was appointed chairman of the Meridian Health Board of Trustees succeeding Peter W. Wegener, Esq., Brielle, counsel with  Bathgate, Wegener & Wolf, PC, who continues on the board as immediate past chairperson. Kenneth W. Hitchner, III, Rumson, partner with Goldman, Sachs and Company, was appointed vice chairperson of the Meridian Health Board of Trustees.

Thomas J. Kononowitz, Wall, is the new chairman of the Meridian Hospitals Corporation Board of Trustees. He succeeds Peter S. Reinhart, Esq., Oceanport, director and specialist professor at Monmouth University, who remains as immediate past chairperson and also treasurer of the Meridian Health Board of Trustees. Gregg Azcuy, Rumson, president and CEO of Storage Engine, Inc., and Alfred J. Schiavetti, Jr., Fair Haven, managing member of Rumson Capital Partners, LLC, have also moved from the Meridian Hospitals Corporation Board to become trustees of the Meridian Health Board.

There are also two new officers and two new appointments to the Meridian Hospitals Corporation Board of Trustees. William Lawless, Ph.D., Middletown, a professor at Monmouth University, has been appointed vice chairperson. Joseph Mancini, Brant Beach, of Mancini Realty and Mayor of Long Beach Township has been appointed treasurer. In addition, Kathleen T. Ellis, Belmar, chief operating officer at New Jersey Natural Gas and Maureen Murphy, Ph.D., Freehold, president of Brookdale Community College, joined as new trustees effective January 2013.

"Both groups share a common goal of supporting Meridian in providing the best health care to the residents of Monmouth and Ocean counties and we are grateful for their insights, leadership and support."
