Neptune, NJ - Due to Hurricane Sandy, the Meridian Health hospitals (Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank, Bayshore Community Hospital in Holmdel, Ocean Medical Center in Brick, and Southern Ocean Medical Center in Manahawkin) have taken precautions to cancel many elective and non-urgent procedures for Monday, October 29 and Tuesday, October 30.

Affected patients have been contacted.

The Meridian hospitals will suspend visitation beginning at 3:00 p.m. today, October 29 and discourage visitors throughout the height of the hurricane for safety and security reasons. Family and friends can call to check on their hospitalized loved ones provided telephone and cell phones remain functioning.

While the hospitals of Meridian Health have thorough and specific hurricane plans to continue to care for our patients as well as for those who may become injured or ill during the inclement weather, please be advised that our facilities are not public hurricane shelters.
