Jumping Jack Flash Mob!  Meridian Health’s “Jersey Jumpers” participate in First Lady Michelle Obama’s Let’s Jump! Campaign to Break Guinness World Record® Title for Jumping Jacks

Neptune, NJ - Meridian Health, a leading New Jersey health care organization, is helping Michelle Obama and National Geographic Kids magazine set the Guinness World Records® title for the most jumping jacks in a 24-hour period. To break the record, more than 20,000 people worldwide completed one minute of jumping jacks in events occurring between 3 p.m. ET October 11th, 2011 and 3 p.m. ET October 12th, 2011. Meridian's six hospitals, including Jersey Shore University Medical Center, K. Hovnanian's Children's Hospital, Riverview Medical Center, Bayshore Community Hospital, Ocean Medical Center and Southern Ocean Medical Center, participated yesterday, on Wednesday, October 12, 2011.

"Let's Jump!" supports First Lady Michelle Obama's Let's Move! campaign, which encourages kids and families to get healthy and active. Mrs. Obama kicked off the 24-hour period with one minute of jumping jacks at the White House.

Meridian Health, which serves New Jersey's central and southern region, counted 519 doctors, nurses, administrators, volunteers, medical professionals, support staff, children who attend Meridian day care centers, local school children and other friends, as part of their "Jersey Jumpers" who joined the Let's Jump! challenge.
